Japanese Artist Makes Realistic 3D Cat Portraits Out Of Felted Wool, And The Result Is Too Purrfect

It’s just amazing how Japanese artist Wakuneco transforms wool into realistic cat models. This is no simple job, of course. Wool of different colors is delicately hand-crafted by using needle felting techniques. According to the artist, it usually takes her around 1 month to complete one model. But hey, good things take time, right? The final product surely will give you ‘eyegasm’, because who doesn’t like kitten?

Portraits of real cats are used as reference so the models may look as realistic as they can be. Check out her work below, and don’t forget to follow her on Instagram!

Japanese artist Wakuneco started needle felting only in 2015.

However, looking at her works it seems that she’s been doing it all her life.

She uses pictures of real cats as a reference to make her portraits as real as possible.

Take a look at some of the beautiful works below.
